Ok..back from kuching as i wrote in the last post-24.12.09..hey..it's a day before Christmas..reach sibu at around 4.00 pm..very tired coz i just sit in the car for a 6 hours long journey..i stated in previous post tat i have to cut down my expenses aite??and tis is the reason..while in kuching..i received a phone call from my sejarah teacher..Mr wong see chiong who is alsom my quiz teacher..so..he told me tat he is bringing me and my friend, andy for a trip to miri and sabah..he told me tis long ago as he said tat andy and i didnt go to national level of tourism quiz in terengganu bcoz of spm exam..i tought he was joking..so..filled with joy i told my parents and they allowed me..tat's y i have to spend less in kch coz i know i will spend more in sabah..and my prediction is 100% correct..lol..
First Day
the trip started on the 25.12.09..on christmas day..we went to miri first by bus..MTC express..quite comfortable as it is a VIP coach bus..we left sibu at 8.00am and reached miri at 2.00pm like tat..Fang hau, our schoolmate who stayed with Mr wong in sibu during form6 year fetched us together with his sister and mother..then we went to Park hote-not even 3 star hotel,but just nice for a short stay..we checked in and left our bags in the room..then fang hau brought us to Bintang plaza megamall..WOW..ive been to this place for many times..but the time passes so fast tat the shopping complex is in renovation process-to make it bigger..last year i went to miri and tis year..the construction works can be said 70% completed..lots of branded and nice clothes or err..(u can mention anything u want) are being sold there..i tried not to spend my money coz we're going to sabah the next day..after bintang plaza..we went to grand old lady where the first petroleum site was found in miri..we walked around..viewing miri from the hill know as canada hill..we went back at around 5.30pm and went to have our dinner at surabaya restaurant-serving indonesian food..i ordered bakso and the others friend noodle and chicken rice..after dinner..we went back to our hotel to rest and have our bathe..at 8.00pm andy came up with an idea..he asked me whether i want to walk around the city cntre or not..i said 'yes'..so.. we went out together with mr wong..surprisingly..miri, the second city in sarawak..look very dull at night..all the shops were closed dy..wat??even sibu is better than miri at night i guess..so..sadly..we walked back to our room and slept..zzzZZZzzzZZZ..we need to charge our energy for another long trip the other day..
Second Day
My hp alarm rang at 5.30am..but i kept on sleeping..lol..then i just woke up at 6.00am..took shower..packed all things..and at 7.00am we went down to the lobby..as there is only 2 coupons for free breakfast, mr wong had his breakfast at nearby coffee shop while andy and i had our breakfast at the hotel cafe..it's my first time at such hotel like park hotel..it serves ala carte breakfast..for breakfast..u have to choose either toasted bread with egg or fried noodle or kueh teow and coffee or tea..kinda surprise to see hotel serving breakfast like tis..so i took kueh teow for breakfast and so did andy..at around 7.15am..fang hao and mr wong called us..we had a quick breakfast tat morning..i can tell u tat andy is so slow when eating..or maybe in doing anything..haha..lol..sorry andy..it's a fact..went to the miri airport coz our flight took of at 9.00am..miri airport is better than sibu airport..haha..cut short the story k..so..arrived Kota kinabalu (K.K.) at 10.00am..the flight took just 55 minutes from miri to K.K..in K.K. a taxi driver fetch us-mr wong's friend..he drove us around city cntre..saw a lot of 5 star hotel and big shopping complex..WOW..lol..but..when reaching K.K. i kept looking for the biggest shopping complex in borneo island-1Borneo..after having a short city tour..we made our move to kinabalu national park..it's situated at the foothill of mount kinabalu..the highest mountain in southeast asia with 4095.2m height..it took about few hours before we reach there..oh, before tat..we had our lunch in tamparuli which is famous with tamparuli hanging bridge-jambatan gantung tamparuli..then on the way to the national park..we stopped for 2 times..first stop is at handicraft shop..bought something there..and second one is at Pekan Nabalu..it's getting colder and colder..grrrr...at pekan nabalu there's also handicraft shop..we ate durian there..and the durians taste very different from sarawak durians..maybe bcoz of the cold temperature..lol..after eating durian..we continued our journey..then..we arrived at kinabalu national park..it's very cold..but i can stand it..tat day i just wear t shirt and short pants..haha..spend around 1 hour day..we are driven around the national park..oh ya..wa also visited tourist information cntere where all info about mount kinabalu are displayed..after kinabalu national park..the taxi driver brought us to kundasang..there we went to orchid garden..haha..for those who know mr wong..u know la...very cold there..but the weather was very nice..like the weather..hope sibu has tat kind of weather..in kundasang there are vegetable market along the road..all vegetable sold are fresh one..wahh..so good la..then..we moved to Poring hot spring..we wanted to try for canopy walk..but unluckily it was close at 4.00 pm and we arrived at the counter at 4.05pm..sob3..frustrated..so we just walked around the hot spring..lots of people..not joking..SO MANY people..then we went to see jackie, an orang utan..haha..gave him some food..and u know wat..he can peel the oranges easily..after meeting jackie..we went to see rafflesia..have to walk deep in the jungle..make me sweat a lot..andy was not comfortable while in the jungle..haha..the rafflesia we saw is not as big as in tv..it is the small one..one more thing..path in the jungle to see the rafflesia is very muddy..and my shoes..it's dirty..oh my..after seeing rafflesia..we went back to K.K. the road is just like snake..and at some part..we cant see the road or anything in front..the mist is very thick..i slept for about 1 hour during going back journey..very tired..plus..we went back at 6.00pm-it's already dark..like 7.00pm in sarawak..we were also very hungry..after we reached K.K the taxi driver brought us to Salut Seafood Restaurant..haha..we ate just like we didnt eat for 2 weeks..was it really like tat??lol..after having our dinner..we went to look for hotel as we havent book any yet..mr wong coming in and out from one hotel to another..and after some hotels..at last..we get a room at Best Western Kinabalu Daya Hotel..the room is quite small but it has a nice bathroom.lol..we get into our room..had shower..and..zzzZZZzzzZZZzzz..
